C-PTSD and Childhood Trauma

Hey folks!! This thread serves as a safe space for discussions around C-PTSD and childhood trauma, how it impacts us, and how we can cope and recover.

@Healandlove @Shaz51 help me kick things off? Who else would be keen on joining?

Re: C-PTSD and Childhood Trauma

Of course @Patches59 always helps to have a safe space!!

@Captain24 no worries I gotchu - maybe some prompts?

Liiiike....

What are some of the things you wish more people understood about C-PTSD?

What coping tools have helped you, and which ones would you encourage other folks with this disgnosis to maybe steer clear from (and why)?

No rush or pressure to answer, they're just prompts for discussion, not questions from a psych intake 😝

I think it is how we can help our partners every day and to understand and to help where we can

Re: C-PTSD and Childhood Trauma

@Shaz51 @Captain24 @Jynx   Something I wish people understood is we don’t have a light switch in our brain that we can flick to stop the impact of things in our past

Re: C-PTSD and Childhood Trauma

I am keen @Jynx 😊

Re: C-PTSD and Childhood Trauma

Totally @Patches59 it is so painful to be told to 'just get over it' hey.

Glad to have you here @Louie333 😁

Re: C-PTSD and Childhood Trauma

I wish people would understand that what happens in childhood can continue in adulthood. That it comes and goes and shows up in different ways. @Patches59 @Jynx
