I like this thread idea

For me, I get hope from the thought that things can get better.

I have days like that. I don't dare hope for what I actually wish for. I guess I create new goals to ke3p ne going but am very cautious to manage my expectations to avoid dissappointment. I do look to earlier highlights though, so I suppose I still hold out faint hope for pleasant surprises up ahead.

Thanks for the tag @Daisydreamer I feel chuffed to be asked my opinion so here goes...

I hope to out live my nearly 92 year old mother as I don’t want her to bury another one of her children. That is always at the back of my mind on every tough day.

Today I hope my home doesn’t flood even though the river is just about in the pool.

My life is beginning to have hope again that the next hour will be better and the next day the next week.

I love walking around The Rocks in Sydney the city of my birth. That city is built on solid rock and it is safe unlike where I live now built on sand and mangroves and flood plains. My hope is in Rock!

To be honest, I don't hold much hope in anything at the moment, that's how deep my illness is.

Ideally, I'd like to have hope in having a purpose in life. I currently just exist and aren't 'living'.  

I look forward to reading more posts on what hope means to them

I can understand not feeling hope, and I'm also happy for anyone who does.

I'm shellshocked atm. My mother died this morning. I can't think/function but all of your comments helped me. My daughter gives me hope.
