Re: Trying makes it worse

Hi @EternalFlower

I haven't seen the meddler. It looks like good one. Rose Byrne is divine. And, yes Geena Davis is amazing.

Possibly my favourite big female actress is Kate Winslet.

If you like her, & looking for a series to watch, I really liked Mare of Eastown, if you haven't already seen it.

It's the new series of Handmaid's Tale @Appleblossom Will you watch it? I really loved the first series, & 2nd (or maybe it was 3rd) was ok, a little disappointing.

What's been happening @EternalFlower ?

Re: Trying makes it worse

@maddison Had a little look, but will probably let the rest of the Handmaid go.... One thing about retirement that is good is that I can start to pick and choose, and dont have to finish things I start.  YAY!

@EternalFlower Hope you are hanging in there alright ... thinking of you ...

Re: Trying makes it worse

Hi all

I was held in hospital for one night under the mh act

Apparently it was big misunderstanding and they let me go

I slept fine there and it wasn't too scary

I saw a psych Registrar, but they only let you go once you consult with a psychiatrist

The psychiatrist was fine, (imagine if he was a monster ), let me go.

Made some jokes

It was quite a night

How are you feeling today?

Re: Trying makes it worse

Phew @EternalFlower  I was there years ago when they came to get person who's house I was boarding at.  Was surreal. Rels got called them.
hope you're okay

Re: Trying makes it worse

@EternalFlower Glad you are back home and weathered it reasonably, and checked in to let us know.  Do you know why they got involved and could not manage it for you at home?

Hope tonight is more peaceful.

TW: Police & Hospital

Hello @Appleblossom @TAB @Former-Member @maddison @tyme

Thanks for Ur comments

It isn't so dignified,  is it @TAB ? Lots of fuss.

2

@Appleblossom my psychiatrist called them because I said stuff about not wanting to be here and cancelled my appointments

He then didn't make me pay for the (ultimately extremely long) session because, in his words, "it's not so nice that you get sectioned AND have to pay for the session.."

Then I came home and police came and escorted me to the hospital.

I had a lot of requests which felt scary for me as someone who feels conflict.

I asked that the female cop ride with me in the back rather than drive, because I warmed to her more.

When I got to the hospital I was seen by a psych Registrar. He seemed a bit odd too me, very overbearing. So I asked the nurse to sit in. He turned out to be a lovely guy but it took me a while to relax. In the end we actually had a really good chat for 20 minutes.

This morning the proper psych came and followed up the Registrars notes from the discussion the night before, asked a few more qs, and discharged me.

I slept the whole night in a little cubicle.

They brought me breakfast in the morning at 7 but I slept for another 2 hours and only woke at 9am when the psychiatrist showed up, with his assistant, to assess me.

I was probably a bit delirious and exhausted and noticed the oddest things.

Every one who I saw, nurses, drs, psychs, was so young, like 28 years old. I wandered why. Also they gave me two blankets, I guess one to sleep with and one spare. The spare one felt fresh from a dryer, it was so warm, so I put it at my feet like a hot water bottle. It felt really soothing to me having the warm blanket near my cold legs. I remember thinking how weird it was to feel cosy and warm and safe even in a seemingly terrible situation.

I'm so glad I'm home.
