I am wondering if I would go to or even make an appearance at a party if I did not agree or connect somehow with the sentiments of the people present.

Certainly there is a side of me that empathizes and can understand your antipathy for the celebration and joy, particularly when we also feel at times excluded from much of what others seem to enjoy.

If you have a few thoughts that you may consider exchanging, I would be pleased to hear from you.

Thank You for your greetings @greenpea . I had lunch with  a friend's family on Christmas Day and have had a quiet time since then.
