Something’s not right

Re: Need to vent

Anytime my beautiful sister @BlueBay

Glad to hear you're in good hands. I am good, and feeling better within myself. Do you do any weights/strength training? I take COQ10 , it has helped with my energy levels. But ask your Dr about any medication.

I had specialist appointment today (neurologist). I had nerve conduction study. I got results it was good news. My condition is only mild. He is going to write to my GP. I can take medication for one or two weeks ( reduce inflammation). And also to wear a split at night.

Glad you got your walk in today. I hope to do a beach walk tomorrow.

Re: Need to vent

New day, new beginnings @BlueBay - will you be going for a walk down to the beach?

Re: Need to vent

Hi @BPDSurvivor

tears are rolling down my face and I do t know why

I’m so alone at home

I have a therapist appt at 10

I’ve already done my beach walk at 7am this morning. Waking up so early that I may as well go for my walk.

what are you up to today? Xxx

Re: Need to vent

Hugs @BlueBay - it’s sounds like what’s happening is to do with your medication. It’s good you have a therapist appointment today.

For me, I have to go to my dentist appointment so I’m just getting ready now.

You are so lucky to get to walk to the beach everyday… I wish I could.

Re: Need to vent

feeling numb and feeling like i just want to stop ALL my meds

no point seeing this therapist/social worker - she's not really helping me with anything

i am so deflated and exhausted, so so tired

i am tired i am forgetting things but it could be the reducing of my meds

do meds really work - i don't think so anymore

Re: Need to vent

Hi @BlueBay

It's something a lot of people question - are my meds actually working. Especially when you're feeling quite low. I have had the same thoughts at times and I believe that they do work for me. Then when I've come off medication to change to a new one and feel good again, I am grateful again for medication. We are all  thinking of you and I am so hopeful you can feel good again.

Sending hugs

Hanami

Re: Need to vent

Hey dear @BlueBay Sorry to hear about feeling deflated and that you feel the therapist/social worker isn't helping. Like you said, a lot of it could be changing your meds.

I think a lot of us question our meds over our lifetime! And remember, our doctors are people we hire for advice. And we need to respect their advice, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't be listened to also. And what you think and feel about your meds should be listened to also!

Who are you speaking to about the meds? With anything with meds, I'm sure you know it's important to make changes with a medical professional, but your worries are real and valid too!

And also, have you spoken to your therapist about not feeling like the relationship is working right now?

A while ago I spoke to my therapist about feeling like we had hit a wall. It was great to have an open and honest conversation about it. Even thought it was a bit weird.

Re: Need to vent

@BlueBay I know for me, I recently changed my meds and am tapering off some anti-depressants.

I changed meds because what I was prescribed wasn't working for me at all and I questioned them. The doctor only knew because I told them. And now I'm tapering off my anti-depressants because my other meds are working so great for me.

I think for a lot of people, meds work great. But its about finding the right ones. And that can also change too.

Sending hugs!

Re: Need to vent

hi @TuxedoCat @hanami

i don't think the social worker is what i need.  When my dr filled out paperwork for free psychology through our local hospital i was referred to this social worker.  But i feel i really need a psychologist who deals with more than just chatting about every day stuff.  I felt today was really a waste of an hour.  i don't pay for it; i get 10 free sessions which i am very grateful for not having to pay.  but i don't think i am getting anything out of it except have a casual chat.  i get 10 sessions and today was 6.  so i think once i reach 10 i don't get anymore.  i am not sure.

as for meds - i think i will see what my psychiatrist says on monday.

Re: Need to vent

@BlueBay totally get it. I feel like the relationship with a therapist is so important and their professional backgrounds can be so different! It sounds like you really know what you want to get out therapy which is so useful ❤️
