Hello

Been in some hell for a few years now,,,,

Have had health professionals do harm and now I can't trust to find a psychologist which I feeli need for advice. My last psychologist recommend another psych for they aren't trained for people with psychosis.

I keep seeing in the media all the ableist and negative spin on people struggling with their mental health and it's discomforting.

I feel I am being scapegoated and things are getting worse and I'm being lied to.

My last hospital stay was a nightmare.

Any advicce please ?

Hello @Pepper05

i was referred to remote therapy services, once you have sent through your MHCP they will provide you with a listing of therapists , including thier BO's and specialities. From here you can make your own choice of those listed, all remotely and via Teams or phone, and bulk billed.

Re: Hello

Hi @Pepper05 and welcome to the forums

It sounds like you've have a really difficult time navigating getting support. Unfortunately you're definitely not alone in this - it can be really difficult to find the right support for you

Like @Justhere mentioned, you can use a mental health care plan with a whole range of psychologists, you don't need to be specifically referred by your GP. Some people will find a psychologist first and then visit their GP for the MHCP before their first session.

There are a lot of bulk-billed remote therapy options out there which is great for accessibility. You can just put "bulk-billed remote psychology" into your search engine and a bunch of options will come up. It is important to check to see what online clinic and practitioner seems right for you.

Another option can be using a search tool like the APS Psychologist Search which allows you to search for psychologists who work in psychosis in your area.

I hope this is helpful, and good on you for reaching out and seeking some answers, it's not an easy thing to do! Hoping the forums can be a safe and supportive space for you

Re: Hello

Hey @Pepper05 ,

I'm sorry to hear about your experiences. I can see why you'd have reservations about working with professionals in the system.

Do you have access to private health insurance for a planned inpatient stay?
