Me first!
At around age 7 I got interested in physics, more specifically, I was interested in finding out how much weight an umbrella could hold.
This sudden new found interest saw me on top of our garage roof armed only with mum's umbrella and an absolute belief in the idea that I was going to gracefully glide to the ground Mary Poppins style.
Ok, for those who are interested, an umbrella will support your average 7 year old jumping off the garage roof, for about two feet...
Shit it hurt!
As I was laying there dazed in my shattered dreams and various broken bits of umbrella that day, I learnt two very important life lessons.
1, Mums get very attached to their umbrellas. And...
2, When you are told to get up and get to your room, don't point your arse at your mother.
That hurt too!
Your turn!

I went through a rollerblade/skate boarding phase. I was going to become Tony Hawke famous.
I thought I'd try to teach myself how to do jumps on rollerblades...
It did not go well.
I tried to jump a basketball and ended up spraining both my ankles. Was very lucky not to break them.
I also tried to ride a skateboard down a really big hill that had a corner on it. I got the wobbles up and come a cropper.

@ThagSimmons @MissinTooth i thought I could be just like the karate kid and do the praying mantis move, it was all well and good first but then I suddenly couldn't walk on my foot, turns out I tore the ligaments 😂.

@MissinTooth , there is a large part of me that just goes, "Oh this is going to be good!" every time I hear or see the words, "It did not go well".
And there was a large part of my childhood scattered with a lot of "It did not go well".
😁🤗
Meh, who am I kidding, it was most my childhood, lol.
I am guessing @Dreamy you have been in trouble for hanging off the clothes line at some stage too?

@ThagSimmons haha you would indeed be correct there. But hey it was a good old hills metal one, so they are specifically built for that right? 😂

Amen @Dreamy !
I am the current custodian of a genuine post war Hills Hoist.
It has all the age appropriate features.
You need two hands to wind it, a couple of wires are broken and were hastily tied up 14 years ago as a temporary measure, one bent wing that suggests a kid was on it... Generic Hills Hoist.
Gonna go have a swing on it later too. This time no one will be knocking on the kitchen window at me with a wooden spoon.
And I am pretty sure you are right, when they were designing them, they were tested by hanging 7 year olds off them. Just logical.
Any of you lot old enough to remember cracker night?
Oh... my... god...
Two words... "Penny Bunger"...
Today's effort involves a bottle rocket though.
The really small cheapest ones you can buy type.
Ever seen one go up someone's nose?
It's pretty bloody funny if it's not you!
Yeah, it was me... this hurt too.
Can't remember who came up with the idea, but we basically stuck about a dozen rockets in a coke bottle and lit them all at once with a roll of newspaper so they all went off at once.
My turn,
lit the sheet of newspaper,
lit the rockets,
knocked the bottle over,
grabbed the bottle to stand it up,
...
You ever seen how fast them buggers take off?
One went straight up my left nostral, and lodged there, and I know it was my left nostral because if you look close you can still see a small scar on the left side of my bottom lip, lol.
My mates all reckoned it was the funniest shit they had ever seen.
I can see why they banned cracker night.
EDIT: - Any sane person would of just ran, but no...
How the hell have I made it this far?

@ThagSimmons haha how awesome. Where i am there is a giant hills hoist at the factory, how i wish i could reach it to hang on it and swing around. Those were the good old days, apart from the wooden spoon coming out (shudders).
They were built strong enough for kids to hang off of so i really do think they got kids to test them out when they designed them 😂

I used to climb absolutely every tree, barn door, scaffolding, climbing frame etc etc I could find.
sorry your lesson was painful, twice!
some of my risk taking didn’t work out great either! 😉
