Re: What you dont know about me, that I'd like you to know.

A book-lover. *eye roll*

Re: What you dont know about me, that I'd like you to know.

bibliophile (literally biblio/book, phile/lover)
noun

  1. a person who collects or has a great love of books.
    synonyms:book lover;
    informal bookworm
    rare bibliomaniac, bibliomanebibliolater

    That's me! We have a room that's intended to be a formal diningroom (huge house, long story) but it's the library instead. We have so many books they won't all fit into it.

    I used to say you can never have too many books, now I'm not so sure...

Oh wow - I'm learning so much about everyone here!

My random facts are;

1) Massive Manly Sea Eagle supporter (awaiting some form of moan, groan or eye roll here) and find it relaxing watching NRL on weekends

2) I really want to travel more... but I can never decide on a place... once I feel like I've made a choice and almost book it..I fear missing out on other places.. then go back into indecisions mode.

3) I love people watching - I have been known to make up back stories about people who are simply sitting in cafes....

Re: What you dont know about me, that I'd like you to know.

Yes I quite enjoy people watching too when I am in the right frame of mind. I know what you mean about imagining the background stories.

Re: What you dont know about me, that I'd like you to know.

Let me guess as a fellow bibliophile, books piled on window shelves, in boxes under beds or tables and of course no space for Knicks knacks on the bookshelves...😄😄next life I am definitely getting a built in library with rolling ladder...ooh and I would love clear glass doors on the book shelves to stop the dust😄😄😄

Re: What you dont know about me, that I'd like you to know.

Eye rolls..sea eagles? My boy would be eye rolling he's a rabbitohs fan..eye rolls I was a parramatta fan in my youth then a St George fan! Still don't understand the difference between Union and league😄😄

Re: What you dont know about me, that I'd like you to know.

Kristin..bargain! I love those salt and pepper shakers😄😄😄 now I will have to figure out how to post a picture from stupid iPad. Better off going from my laptop..I still have a few days until my day off on Friday so will have fun on Friday trying to upload!

Re: What you dont know about me, that I'd like you to know.

I'd like the entire Pali canon in its own bookcase (as is the custom). An SF collection of my favourite writers, the latest DSM featuring mental health, and a movie library.

Re: What you dont know about me, that I'd like you to know.

Sci fi would have to include Ray Bradbury, Asimov, HG Wells, Heinlein and Ursula La Guin. Then, I will need the input from current scifi fans as to new and emerging writers as I am stuck in the past..would love to have DVD set of Blakes Seven and a copy of Bladerunner...when Harrison ford was great😄

Re: What you dont know about me, that I'd like you to know.

Hi Alless,

To continue the list...

Clarke, David Brin, Greg Bear.  To complement *lade Runner, perhaps some Phillip K *ick.  His novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? was the inspiration.  He also wrote the basis for Total Recall, and was  self-diagnosed with MI so a lot of his work is about the nature of percieved reality.  Robot LOL
