@Shaz51, anxiety can mess up short term memory somewhat, but I'd assume that if it had done so previously with Mr. Shaz you wouldn't be finding it strange? Might be worth checking up about it with a doctor and/or psych.

There are a few possible contributing factors  @Shaz51 . GP might want to check things like hearing as well as neurological function.
