New member
Hay there, am new here.
26/female & my dignosed mental illness is Borderline personality disorder, manic depression and anxeity .
I was dignosed at 16 with this and depression at 8 years old . I have suffered from drug addiction for about 7 years now which has now lead to a drug dependency. I am too familiar with the jail system as my mental illness has led me to inside prison more then once. My partner has been in & out the system which takes a toll on me mentally also. His been gone for 5 months this time and it's always so hard. I don't have any friends, they seem to show me the reasons I keep to myself . Not too sure what to expect from here?
Thanks

@Infinity101 Hi and welcome infinity101:).Woah you have definitely been through the wringer. I am sorry that you have had such a hard time so young. You will find alot of formites here have the diagnosis of BPD, manic depression and anxiety amongst other mi's.
You ask what you can find from being here and I can definitely answer that question :). Acceptance, friendship, fun and knowledge amongst many other things as you will discover as you move through the various threads. One thread which is good to start with is the Good morning! thread. It basically goes 24 hours/7 days a week. It is a nice easy way to begin.
If you want to speak to a particular person put a @Infinity101 infront of their name like I just did for you. It will send a post through to them that you have sent a message. Anyway I hope to see you around for forum and take good care of yourself. greenpea:)

Re: New member
Hi @Infinity101 and welcome to the forums. Here you will find people to listen to you, support you and even socialise with you. It's a safe place to make new friends. It sounds like things are really rough for you at this time and I feel for you. As well as people with similar diagnoses, of which there are several that come to mind (but they will have to tell you themselves) and other shared experiences, there are also plenty of us here that have struggled with drug and/or alcohol addiction. Myself included. I'm 56 and only managed to finally stop 6 years ago, after 30 years of chronic pot smoking. And I mean chronic. Drug use is common for people with a trauma history and you might want to google 'self-medication' to understand more about that.
I have bipolar 1 (the 'manic depression' you refer to might be called that these days) so if you want to talk about that side of things with me you can.
I have also had lots of contact with police over the years, to the point that just seeing them can cause my complex PTSD to flare up. And had a partner who served time.
So if you want to chat to me or just someone to listen I'm around. As @greenpea said, just put an @ and you will see a drop down box, then type the name you want slowly (no spaces) and it should show in the box and you can click on it.
You can use the search bar to find a few threads about life with bipolar (one of them is 'Managing Bipolar1') just put that or whatever topic you are looking for in the search box at the top of the page and a list of threads will show up. A couple of social threads are 'Friday Feast', 'Saturday Soiree', and 'A Long Rave' - on any of these you can just drop in, and will meet some more forumites.
Hope you have a peaceful day. Look forward to hearing from you sometime.
