Happy new year, @CheerBear! I see you are up. First light here. Birds have woken. Small tinklings to start with. Now a noisy crow. I like crows, their sound makes me feel at home. Hope it's a great first day of the year for you.

How was your night? Was there fire twirling?

I remember that you like crows 🙂 I can hear birds in the distance. My little morning friends must be on strike this morning after I finally tidied up the apricots.

@CheerBear, we ended up staying at home but it was good anyway. Saw our friend earlier in the day. After that C and I just took it easy as usual, with a bit more of a celebratory spirit (there was dancing). And I posted from time to time on the party thread. Nice that you got into some gardening with the apricots. How was your new year's eve?

Dancing at home sounds fun @Mazarita 🙂 

I had a bit of a wonky day thinking back over 2017 but the fish and I ended up having a great night together. We had a radio countdown on (streaming - I don't have a radio anymore!) and played board games. When it got dark we took some sparklers and glow sticks into the yard and played with them for a while then me plus little two fell asleep watching a movie. I think big saw the year end on the TV 🙂 It was heaps of fun in the heart feels good way.

Is C up? Do you have anything on for the day?

Sounds like a beautiful at-home new year, @CheerBear. Makes my heart feel good too to hear about it. 

C is still asleep. We have no plans today except go to the beach if it's not storming (forecast). It's a gorgeous moment in the day just now. Feels very tropical as the light is brightening.

Love the mornings for those moments @Mazarita 🙂 I miss the more tropical weather for the storms, which it sounds like you get a few of. 

I think i've mentioned before that we live on a busy road and the traffic can get pretty loud. On weekends and public holidays it is heaps quieter here which makes the birds sound so much chirpier. It's funny because if I go around the back near the vegie garden and the lemon tree it sounds completely different. It's a funny place here. 

Are you someone who does plans or resolutions for the new year? I
