Endgame
I just wrote this out.
I think its profound for me in my journey so far.
" the inner critic/voice or harshness informed by anxious or depressive state is at its weakest. "

Re: Endgame
Would you care to expand on this idea?
As written I can interpret this in various quite different and even opposite ways.

Re: Endgame
For a long time part of my depressive and anxious state has included a very harsh inner critic. In other words, I beat myself up. I am horrible to myself.
I am finding now that this voice/critic is at its weakest. It is falling apart. It is crumbling slowly and moreso.
I guess my point here is that I'm slowly getting better. But more importantly I am realising why it has been the case. The inner insecurities and anxieties.

Re: Endgame
Thanks for explaining further @MDT
I guessed that was where you were coming from, but got a bit confused 🙂
But anyway, good to hear it's positive!

Re: Endgame
That is great news @MDT
Hearing the caution in your tone, but a weakened inner critic, is reason to celebrate and do a little jig.

Like @StuF and @Willy I did a double think when I read it first, but then figured it out, cos I have known you for so long.
Inner voices are best when they are encouraging and not harsh.
Sending a coooeee

Re: Endgame
Under the weather how so @MDT
Are we talking physical or otherwise?
(I want to ask how yesterday went, but hesitate...)

Re: Endgame
Now I understand what you are saying.
Here is a YouTube video that deals with this sort of stuff that you might find interesting
Passengers On A Bus - an Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) Metaphor
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z29ptSuoWRc
It ties in with three fairly new evidence based psychological therapy techniques
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT)
- Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)
Despite the different names, they are all very similar.
I have been looking at this stuff for about the last three years. I believe it can be self applied .i.e. you don't need a trained psychologist (expensive and hard to find)
Feel free to get back to me if you want more information.
Regards
Willy
